The ROCHEM Group established ROCHEM UF-SYSTEME GmbH, located in Hamburg, to promote and sell Bio-Filt®, a highly efficient and small footprint MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR. Its innovative treatment technology replaces conventional aerobic biological sewage plants aboard ships, hotel complexes and villages. Based on a high-density biological process combined with an FM module, Bio-Filt produces a pure, clean discharge without requiring additional chlorination or other chemical treatment. By treating all wastewater and sewage water on sea-going ships with Bio-Filt before discharging overboard, marine life and organisms will be protected and a truly "Environmentally Sound Green Ship" is achievable.
